 WELCOME:

The Kenosha Sabers start the 2010 season with a new name, new players and new colors. The Sabers will be a throw back to when the Oakland Raiders were the dominant force in the NFL. With new players comes a new attitude and outlook.

Apologies are due to the fans that have kept up with the website for the lack of new pictures as well as information from what has been going on within the last three weeks of the season.  After a very disappointing loss to a very good Razorbacks team, the Sabers were able to bounce back with a 21-14 win over the Gators.  The following week, we went up against a very talented Racine Gladiators team and the game ended in a 45-45 tie.  The Sabers move into the fifth game of the season with a contest agains the Janesville Mustangs on their home turf.  Exact details and photos from the last few games will be posted in the multimedia section within the next few days.

The Kenosha Sabers suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a very good Racine Razorbacks (formerly the Racine Heat).  The final score was 30-18, and was a very physical, competitive game.  The defense tried out some new things and the offense couldn't quite get on the same page; things that need to be addressed in the next practice.  We have two weeks before our next game so we have a lot of work that needs to be done.

The Kenosha Sabers came out victorious against the Jefferson Scorpions Friday night with a score of 32-6.  The defense produced a shut-out, the only score came from a fumble recovery at the end of the game.  The Scorpions came out ready to play and will be a force to reckon with down the road.  For the Sabers, we need to fix the mistakes we had in the game by going over schemes and proper rotations of people, as well as turning the ball over.  Next week we play the Racine Razorbacks (formerly known as the Heat) on Thursday night of next week, so come ready.

The GFL tournament served to be quite a test for the Sabers.  The first contest against a very talented, physical Cougars team ended in a 0-0 tie. The second game against a formidable Desperados team ended in a loss of 6-2.  The games may have only lasted 30 minutes, there is much work to be done before the season-opener on May 14th against the Jefferson Scorpions.
